What Size Ring Should You Order?
Choosing the right ring size can feel tricky, especially when you’re ordering online. The good news is, you can figure it out with a simple at-home method that doesn’t require special tools.
Here’s how:
-
Wrap a strip of paper, string, or ribbon around your finger.
Place it at the base of the finger you want to measure. -
Mark the point where the ends meet.
This gives you the circumference of your finger. -
Measure in millimeters.
Using millimeters helps with accuracy. -
Do a quick calculation.
Take your measurement and divide it by π (3.14). The result is the diameter of your finger, which is what jewellers use to match you to a ring size.
For example:
-
If the circumference is 57 mm, divide by 3.14 and you get about 18.1 mm.
-
A jeweller can translate that diameter into a ring size—in this case, roughly a size 8.
Tip: Fingers tend to swell a bit throughout the day or in warm weather. Measure in the evening for the most accurate fit.
With just a strip of paper and a simple calculation, you can confidently choose your ring size before placing your order.
